IMDB rating: 7.60 Plot: When Mr. Dashwood dies, he must leave the bulk of his estate to the son by his first marriage, which leaves his second wife and three daughters (Elinor, Marianne, and Margaret) in straitened circumstances. They are taken in by a kindly cousin, but their lack of fortune affects the marriageability of both practical Elinor and romantic Marianne. When Elinor forms an attachment for the wealthy Edward Ferrars, his family disapproves and separates them. And though Mrs. Jennings tries to match the worthy (and rich) Colonel Brandon to her, Marianne finds the dashing and fiery Willoughby more to her taste. Both relationships are sorely tried. But this is a romance, and through the hardships and heartbreak, true love and a happy ending will find their way for both the sister who is all sense and the one who is all sensibility. |

Movies like Pride and Prejudice & It's a Boy Girl Thing?
I’ve seen the Notebook, Sense and Sensibility (ok), Emma & Jane Eyre (didn’t really like either of these)
I like romantic movies that aren’t cheesy but aren’t scary/depressing or anything. Like in Pride and Prejudice, I think it’s cute how they don’t like each other at first, then they love each other, or like in It’s a Boy Girl Thing how they grew up together at first (and how they hated each other too).

27 Dresses-Really good movie, happy and funny.
Say Anything-More of a drama and more realistic, but very good. Not scary and not depressing.
A Love Story-It’s got the dynamic you’re looking for, but the end is depressing.
An Officer and a Gentleman-Just one of the best movies ever in my opinion.
The Cutting Edge-About ice skating, but the couple is really fun to watch as they fall for each other.
Bird on a Wire- With Mel Gibson and Goldie Hawn.
Lady Jane- Okay, I couldn’t not include this one. The ending is beyond depressing. It made me cry, but still I think you would appreciate the love story in it. It deserves to be mentioned.
The Princess Bride- Ah a classic.
Always and Forever- Now I have to say, this definitely does not meet your requirements. It is extremely depressing through out. However, it is a very good movie. But extremely extremely depressing.
Pretty in Pink-Teenage romance in 80s. Has always been one of my personal favorites.
Witness- A thriller with Harrison Ford. Great, great movie.
